1974年（第25回）から始まった国際雪像コンクールは、世界各地の国・地域・都市によるチームが参加して雪像制作を競いあうコンクールです。
国際色豊かな個性あふれる雪像は雪まつり期間中に制作され、大通会場内で唯一、雪像の制作風景を間近で見ることができる大変人気のある行事です。

Mongolians have a tradition of hanging a felt fox over a baby’s crib, believing that the fox protects babies from evil because it is a cunning animal. The Lee snow sculpture depicts a fox protecting a little boy from a blizzard as a mountain, a home to stay warm in, and a loving mother. We hope the peacefully sleeping fox and boy under the softly snowing Sapporo sky will bring peace to the audience.
モンゴルではずる賢い動物であるキツネが赤ちゃんを邪悪なものから守ると考え、フェルト製のキツネの飾りをベビーベッド上に吊るす習慣があります。この雪像、「温もり」は、吹雪の中、山になって少年を守り、家のように温め、母のように愛するキツネを表現したものです。柔らかな雪が降る札幌の空の下で穏やかに眠るキツネと少年が、さっぽろ雪まつりの来場者に平和をもたらすことを祈ります。

Naga Fire phenomenon is the natural event based on religious belief when hundreds of fireballs rise out of Mekong River into the sky before disappearing. Locals believe that Naga, a sacred serpent of water and abundant, shoots the fireballs as offerings to Buddha.
ナーガの火の玉現象とは、メコン川から数百の火の玉が空に舞い上がり、やがて消えるという宗教的信仰に基づいた自然現象です。地元では、水と豊かさを司る神聖な蛇であるナーガが、仏陀への供物として火の玉を放つと信じられています。
This artwork symbolizes mutual reliance and affection between a man and a woman, depicted through the figure of a pot, representing the essence of love.
愛の本質を陶磁器の形で表現し、男女が互いに頼り合い、愛し合っている姿を描いた作品です。
Located in East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia, Komodo Island provides a habitat for about 3,700 Komodo dragons. The Komodo dragon is the largest lizard in the world, growing to 3.4 meters in length and weighing up to 100 kg. Komodo Island is a paradise for divers and snorkelers, offering a pink beach and the natural beauty of the seabed, which is home to over 1,000 species of fish and 380 species of coral reefs.
インドネシアの東ヌサ・トゥンガラ州に位置するコモド島には約3,700頭のコモドオオトカゲが生息しています。コモドオオトカゲは世界最大のトカゲで、体長3.4メートル、体重100キロに達するものもいます。コモド島のピンクの砂浜や、1000種以上の魚、380種以上のサンゴ礁が生息する海底の自然美は、ダイビングやシュノーケリング愛好家にとっての楽園です。
