Jozankei Snow Candle Way, a mystifying event held at Jozankei Onsen, is about an hour's drive away from central Sapporo. Visitors to this popular annual event can enjoy handmade snow candles that decorate around Jozankei Shrine! You can also experience the Jozankei Nature Luminarie, a fantastic walking path colorfully illuminated and blending in with nature. Come and see what this wonderful snowy land is all about!

As you pass through the torii gate of Jozankei Shrine, you will be greeted by a spectacular sight of glowing snow candles. Enjoy the serene atmosphere as the candle lights gently flicker in the night. There are many photo-spots for you to take pictures, so come and experience this unique winter art for yourself!

A World Created by a Mysterious Forest

Visitors can find a shrine hidden deep in the snow, where even the forest seems to offer its prayers. The dancing lights from the snow candles and illuminated nature of Jozankei will make you feel like you are in a fairy tale.
