This year our work is dedicated to the memory of Chiune Sugihara. Consul of Japan, 1939-1940 who resided in Kaunas, Lithuania, during WWII. Risking his life, he saved thousands of people from the Holocaust and gave them "visas for life". HOME was chosen as the image to represent the idea. Home is the physical and spiritual definition. Home is a symbol of life. Sometimes Home is a steaming cup of matcha tea on the table. Sometimes Home is the opened door for returnees; or Hachikō, dog ready to wait for all the eternity; or maybe the given visa, the ticket for life, despite terrible circumstances, still an opportunity to have THE HOME...

Mother Nature snow sculpture was inspired by the writing in the ancient book about the Mongolians coming all the way through the oceans till the three rivers beginning, to settle at the Burkhan Khaldum mountain. They respect the sky as the father, the nature as the mother. So, the mother nature was shown in the form of a woman, as well as the Mongolian historical vision of mountains, rivers, sun and the moon was expressed. On the other side of the sculpture , the good relations between the two countries was shown. The mountain and the cloud is representing Mongolia, while the sun is the representing of Japan.

A common element between our nations is admiration for the works of Fryderyk Chopin. Sculpture "Chopin Cometition" combines music with sculpture and our nations into an inseparable whole, whose common denominator is the universality of art.
