Opening Dates and Hours

A variety of events take place at Tsudome site between Feb. 6 and Feb. 12.
Tsudome site is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday during the snow festival.

Open-air Venue
Visitors can have a snow-and-ice experience through participating in a variety of events at the open-air venue.


Indoor Venue (inside the dome)
Inside this all-weather dome, a variety of other events with special features of Hokkaido take place. Visitors can also take a break or have refreshments inside the dome.
Concept of Tsudome Site
Tsudome site’s concept is to be a place where:
  • visitors can enjoy authentic Hokkaido food
  • visitors can have positive exchanges
  • visitors can experience special features of Hokkaido
  • person of any age can have fun

* Please use public transportation or shuttle bus to Tsudome site. There is no parking lot for the private cars and motorbikes.

Events at Tsudome Site

[FUN & EXPERIENCE]
Tube Slider Tube slide Slide on a rubber tube on Tube Slider. This snow slide is approximately 10 meters high and 100 meters long. There are five different courses to try. 
● Not for children under 3 years old

Ice Slide:
‘Challenge 999’ - Houei Construction Company

Ice Slide This ice slide for small children is approximately 5 meters high and 12 meters long.
There are four different courses to try. 
Waku Waku Slider: Hokkaido Rice, ‘LOVE’ You slide in a big arc on this snow slide. It is approximately 6 meters high and 30 meters long. There are four different courses to try. 
● Not for children under 3 years old
Snowrafting Snowrafting The snow raft is a small rubber raft pulled along by a snowmobile.
● Charges:  Adults 500 yen   Children (under 12 years old) 300 yen
Waku Waku Tappy Land Snowrafting The Higashi Ward Welcome Council invites you to the Waku Waku Tappy Land.
Those with children are especially welcome.
Bamboo Skiing Bamboo Skiing Members of the Higashi Ward Welcome Council (Satsunae-Moere Development Committee) invite you to experience ‘bamboo skiing’ and ‘bamboo ski making’.
● Bamboo skiing area: 30 meters x 30 meters x 1.5 meters high
● For elementary school and preschool children
● ‘Bamboo ski making’ takes place on February 11 and 12, 2012 (Free of charge)  
Republic of Yukidaru-man Experience making a snowman or just have fun with snow in the Republic of Yukidaru Man.

Snow Crystal Watching Snow Crystal Watching Watch the falling snow crystals with a loupe!
The Snowman of Love Love from Snowman Send a snowman-shaped gift filled with snow to someone special on St. Valentine's Day!

DOSANKO Gourmet Street (Indoor Venue) DOSANKO Gourmet Street Authentic Hokkaido foods such as ramen noodles and soup curry are served at this indoor venue.

Tsudome Hot Cafe (Indoor Venue) Tsudome Hot Cafe Hot drinks, soft drinks and local wines are served at this indoor cafe.

[CITIZENS’ EVENT]
Snow Object Contest Snow Object Contest The snow object contest will be taking place here at the Tsudome site. Art club students from the High School League of Hokkaido for Culture, Ishikari Branch, will be at work on snow objects for the contest on February 6, 2012, between 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Don’t miss it!
Sapporo Citizen's Snow Sculptures The citizens of Sapporo present seven snow sculptures.
● The size of each snow sculpture is 3 meters wide, 3 meters deep and 3 meters high.
