Opening Dates and Hours
A variety of events take place at Satoland site between Feb. 5 and Feb. 11.
Satoland site is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday during the snow festival.

  • Sato no Hiroba
    Sato no Hiroba is a 5 hectare of open space where visitors can have a snow-and -ice experience through participating in a variety of events during the snow festival.
  • Satoland Koryukan
    Visitors can take a break or have refreshments in Satoland Koryukan.
  • Satoland Center
    Refreshment Zone is opened in Satoland Center during the snow festival.

Satoland’s site’s concept is to be a place where:

Events at Satoland Site

[FUN]
1.Tube Slide You use a rubber tube to slide on Tube Slide. This snow slide is 8 meters high and almost 100 meters long. (There are four different courses.)
2.Enemo's Ice Slide This 8 meters long ice slide is for small children. (There are four different courses.)
3.Snow Labyrinth This snow labyrinth is 26 meters in width, 76 meters in depth, and 4 meters in height.
4.Tube Banana Boat Tube Banana Boat is pulled along by a snowmobile.
●There is a charge to ride on the Tube Banana Boat.
5.Snowrafting Snowrafting The snow raft is a small rubber raft pulled along by a snowmobile.
● Charge for ride: Adults 500 yen, Children 300 yen

8.Love-Daruma The Higashi Ward Welcome Council invites you to experience making a snowman!

9.Snow Crystal Watching Watch the falling snow crystals with a loupe!
10.Slippery Road Surface Experience: ‘How to Walk on an Icy Road’ Sapporo Winter Life Promotion Council offers a very slippery, icy road surface for visitors to experience walking on. (Open on Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 only)
11.Love from Snowman Send a snowman-shaped gift filled with snow to someone special on St. Valentine's Day!
● There is a charge to make the snowman-shaped gift.
12.Horse-drawn Sleigh Riding & Butter Making Fancy riding in a sleigh drawn by a white horse at Satoland Center?
● Charge for ride: Adults 400 yen / Children 200 yen
You can also experience making butter in Satoland Center.
● Charge for butter making: 300 yen
13.Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing Experience cross country skiing and snowshoeing in Moerenuma Park!
● Charge for cross country skiing: 200 yen / snowshoeing: 300 yen

[REFRESHMENTS]
15.Snow Festival Restaurant During the snow festival, Sapporo Prince Hotel (a member hotel of Japan Hotel Association) serves local Hokkaido food at the restaurant in Satoland Koryukan.
16.Snow Festival's Stall Village The members of Sapporo Tourist Association, The Sapporo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Sapporo Product Association sell refreshments and souvenirs during the snow festival at the stalls around Satoland Koryukan.
17.Direct Vegetable Store Vegetables are sold directly by the Satomirai Project.
18.Project Exhibitions at the Sato-Land Center  

[CITIZENS’ EVENT]
19.The Harmony: The Snow Festival and the Local Communities The members of Satsunae-Moere Development Committee in Higashi Ward invite you to experience ‘bamboo ski’ making.
20.Snow Object Contest

The snow object contest will be taking place here in Satoland. Art club students from the High School League of Hokkaido for Culture, Ishikari Branch, will be at work on snow objects for the contest on February 5, 2008, between 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Be sure not to miss it!

21.Hole in One

NPO Sapporo Park Golf Association invites you to play ‘Hole in One Game’ on the snow.

22.Coca-Cola's Sports Spot  

23.Curling, Terracotta Warriors, Performance Stage, Ice Bar

The students who participated in the Yosakoi Festival and a group of enthusiastic students from all over Japan join up to perform Yosakoi on the stage. Curling is also included this year for the visitors to experience.

24.YUKIGASSEN(Snowball Fight Demonstration)

The Hokkaido Snowball Fight League Central Hokkaido Block invites you to a demonstration of Snowball Fight. (Feb. 11 only)

25.Snow Sculptures

‘DEFEND SAPPORO 119’ presents two highly artistic snow sculptures.
The size of each snow sculpture is 3 meters wide, 3 meters deep and 3 meters high.

26.Sapporo Citizen's Snow Sculptures

The Sapporo citizens present some snow sculptures.

27.Big Snow Sculptures by Little Ones

The children from the Children’s Halls in Sapporo present three snow sculptures.
