The 61st Sapporo Snow Festival Outline

1. Period of the Festival

From February 5 (Fri) to February 11 (Thu/Holiday), 2010  <for seven days>

2. Festival sites and Opening hours

Odori site: Odori park; Nishi 1 chome ~ Nishi 12 chome Illuminations finish at 22:00.    
Tsudome site: Sapporo Community Dome; Sapporo Tsudome Open from 9:00 to 17:00
Susukino site: Ekimae-dori (Station Avenue); Minami 4 jo ~ Minami 7 jo Illuminations finish at midnight. (On the last day, illuminations finish at 22:00.)

3. Number of Snow and Ice Sculptures

244 in total: Odori site; 141, Tsudome site; 23, Susukino site; 80

4. Transportation of Snow

The snow for the snow sculptures is to be transported from several locations in and around Sapporo between January 7 and January 22, 2009; including Takino Cemetery Park, Satozuka Cemetery Park, Sapporo Satoland, Moerenuma Park and Ishikari Bay New Port. The amount of snow transported for the festival is equivalent to 6.500 five-ton trucks.
