1. Frame work / Snow stuffing
First of all, you need
an accurate blueprint to build a giant snow sculpture.Based on
this desk plan, a wooden frame is built and filled with tightly
packed snow. This frame also serves as scaffolding.

2. Remove framing
Once the packed snow is
hardened, the frame panels are removed and then the carving is
carefully begun. |
3. Carving
Hatchets and shovels are
used to outline the sculpture, then the details are added. A small
model of the sculpture is used as a blueprint.Because warmer daytime
temperatures makes the sculptures fragile, many sculptors work
at night. |

4. Final touch
When the sculpture is
completed, the scaffoldings are removed.Accumulated snowfall,
and icicles that have formed on the sculpture must be taken away.
